Changes to the Plot:
- Multiple alternate endings were added.
- Demons no longer come from the DE. They are now born of broken seals.
- In the normal plot, Samuel and Karen now work against Marcus and Robin.
- Renuzit espers now called Renzic espers (Renuzit = brand of air freshener, so it was changed for copyright et al. issues).
- +games (where the game is started over, but the player keeps the stats and items of the last play-through) are now included (and necessary for the completion of certain alternate endings).
There are 2 endings for the normal game (if possible): Marcus and Robin can protect the Inland from the immortals by building bigger and better seals, or Samuel and Karen can try to kill all of the immortals, resulting the destruction of the world.
I’ll post the new plot at some point, but I’d like to get some feedback on it before finalizing it.
Characters updated with spells and elemental charges; the potential side character was removed. Equipment updated with weapon and armor descriptions. Items updated with current list. Old spell list deleted, information still under revision. NPC page updated with 12 new esper allies/enemies, and their spells and elemental charges.
Controller to be updated (noir will update the picture when possible).
Plot still needs to be completed, and an artist needs to be found. The offers I have received have dried up with no result.
happy b-day, Zach!
just as you said, jumping on the bandwagon on Facebook just isn’t cool, so I’ll have to break the 2 month no-post streak with this, lol. happy birthday, and I hope ya have fun with your new nokia n810!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS.sorry, i forgot, or more, i was busy all day yesterday, but i’m sure i could’ve found time to write on your facebook or something, but then, you probably would’ve thought, oh hey, he’s just wishing me happy birthday just like everyone else. HAHA what now bitches? whatever. happy birthday.
i attended the college of engineering’s job fair last wednesday. everybody told me not to go because most companies don’t hire sophomores, but i went anyway to see what it was like and to get free goodies. it should suffice to say i got my fill of free mugs, shirts, and even a mini-usb mouse w/ retractable cord. it was pretty cool. i won’t know whether or not i got an internship for the summer yet, but i’m hoping to come out on top, even if it is a 1 in a million shot.
anyway, now for the funny part: i wrote on my resume that i was a project co-director of >E. normally, that’s not funny, but a black guy that i handed my resume to said, “hey, bro, check this kid out, he works at greater than entertainment!”
i was about to piss my pants, i could barely hold back my laughter. he was so full of bs since we haven’t actually publicized >E very much. fun stuff.
so, uh, update, right… i changed the controller layout a bit. i did an extra mod that i didn’t feel was necessary, but made the layout more complete.
I’ve updated several things, mainly spells, although I’ve also added in information on grenades (detonate after 3 seconds or so) and impact charges (detonate on impact). I’ve also added what I’m currently calling a “soul charge”, in which espers can heal a part of themselves at the cost of another (the most efficient way for them to heal anything of themselves). Other than that, I’m not really sure what I changed… Just look around.
The soul charge is made so that it can be abused (and players will have to find ways to abuse it during battle in order to beat the game without excessive leveling).
I’m considering removing usable items from the game. As of right now, I don’t really see a way in which they’d work (the only items that ever seem to get used are healing items, and I’m not sure if we can balance it correctly so that healing spells will still have to be used in order to keep the two characters alive; in SoM it was almost never necessary to cast healing spells because there were enough healing items to use - if we don’t have healing items, the player must decide between using his MP on killing enemies quickly to avoid getting hurt, or to use it in healing himself after getting hurt). I will wait a while before I make this decision though, and I will gladly take other people’s views on this.
I have updated equipment some (changed information on explosives, moved rocket launchers to guns, added info to most guns, added spears, removed unnecessary weapons, etc.) I added 3 types of shields (bucklers, plexiglas, and tower shields), and removed arm and back equipment (I don’t see a particular reason to include those).
I also added a grenade button to the controls (that is currently the R button).
I’m considering changing the elementals so that the longer you charge them, the less MP it costs to use them (until finally not costing anything after a full charge), and adding a special charge that does different things depending on the clan (Renuzit can heal HP at the cost of MP; Sephiric can heal MP at the cost of HP; Nephilic can increase what’s lower at the cost of what’s higher). This could easily be abused, but we might make the game so that players almost have to abuse it in order to win (i.e. Sephiric espers will have to use so much MP in order to keep from getting killed in 2 hits that they can take the HP damage in order to increase their MP; Renuzit espers spend so much time up close protecting the Sephiric espers that they don’t have time to use MP except to heal, and its more efficient to just charge their HP back to full in the down-times). I’m not sure how that will work with balancing yet, though, so I haven’t included that in anything.
As for the way things are going now, I’m a litle concerned about my scholarship right now (I have to keep a 3.2 average, and it seems like I’m going to have something closer to a 3.0, and possibly lower if I don’t find a way to make my Rhet 1101 teacher not hate me).
I either got a 74 or an 85 on my Calculus test (I think there might have been an 11 point curve, but I’m not completely certain; the 85 might be my average) .
well, physics is slaughtering me alive. the lab t.a. makes us write long lab reports and the homework completely ignores significant figures, and ughhh…. i just want to die.
anyway, isohunt blacklisted u.s. ip addresses, so that’s a big step forward for the mpaa/riaa. doesn’t really affect me since ttu blocks it anyway.
tim seems to hate anything and everything i add nowadays, so i’ll take a break and let him get everything straightened out and then i’ll make some updates.
I updated several things, like the Antagonist and Protagonist pages, as well as a few other things that I can’t remember, but they’re mostly plot and background-related.
Also, I’m not sure how much free time I have right now, with college and a girlfriend and all, but I’ll try to keep on working on this in my free time in Calculus (where I wrote down everything that I edited in the last run).
I’m starting to get more of an idea of what shape the plot will take (the Renz are now going to target the seals, the Sephir send an assassin after Roland - and he eventually succeeds, after becoming a Demonic esper - the Nephilim still split into two factions). There will also be more problems between the different characters (Samuel won’t really get along well with any of the other characters except for Karin), so it might be that there won’t be a choice for character set-ups (Samuel has to travel with Karen, and Marcus and Robin have to go together because those two hate Samuel).
well, it turns out that bittorrent isn’t blocked at all, and the recent network failure i’ve been experiencing is caused by my network controller.
now, nvidia makes a great graphics card and i might even go as far to say a great chipset, but the network controller, LANvidia, is giving me nothin’ but shit on the ttu network. (coincidentally, it’s working right now)
so, i’m gonna go buy a cheapy 10/100(maybe even a /1000) and see if that don’t fix the problem…
